Development record

Version numbers start when there is a release. Until then this is a log of the engineering series, not a list of downloads.

Current engineering series

There is no tagged public release. The notes below describe work present in the engineering tree and results limited to the primary M3 test machine. They are not a version you can download.

  • Diagnostic EFI shim

The shim prints SHIM ENTRY 7, loads an AArch64 Microsoft EFI image, can hook that image's entry, and traces Boot Services and Runtime Services. Windows Boot Manager initialization remains unverified.

  • Handoff probe

A separate diagnostic EFI application prints its entry, the current exception level, and architectural counters, including a PMCCNTR read. Windows Boot Manager reads that counter early, so the probe exists to see whether the register access returns. It is not Windows output.

  • m1n1 boot object

A Mach-O wrapper lets kmutil configure-boot install a raw m1n1 stage-1 image. Stage 2 on the EFI system partition carries device trees and U-Boot.

  • Partition planner

BootCampKit can plan a stub APFS container, an EFI system partition, a BCINSTALL volume, and a BOOTCAMP volume. Planning is not permission to repartition a disk. No public procedure is offered.

  • Hardware identification

A system probe and device database name Apple Silicon models. A named model is not a verified Windows target. The public matrix records one verified boot environment: the project's M3 MacBook Pro 14-inch (2023).

  • Public record

This website publishes the experimental boundary: firmware execution on one machine, no Windows installation, and no public installer.
